On-site technology migrations and ERP implementation for a project-led organisation
Karachi Urban Transport Corporation
The challenge
Karachi Urban Transport Corporation is a semi-government, project-based organisation associated with the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway. Its technology environment needed to support operational and administrative teams working around long-running transport-infrastructure activity. KUTC required multiple on-site migration engagements together with ERP implementation work. The combination created practical constraints around coordination, access to local systems, user readiness, infrastructure dependencies and continuity during change. Technology decisions had to fit a project-led organisation rather than assume the operating model of a software company or greenfield cloud environment.
What we delivered
## On-site discovery and coordination We carried out migration work on site so that systems, dependencies and user requirements could be understood in their operational setting. This supported direct coordination with the teams affected by each change and allowed technical decisions to account for local infrastructure conditions. ## Staged technology migrations The migration activities were organised as controlled pieces of work instead of one broad replacement. Preparation, data handling, system validation and user access were coordinated for the relevant environment, keeping the focus on operational continuity and clear handover. ## ERP implementation Alongside the infrastructure work, we supported implementation of an ERP platform for KUTC's team. The work considered the administrative and project-oriented processes the system needed to support, as well as the infrastructure and access required for practical use. ## Implementation support and knowledge transfer Support continued through configuration, validation and adoption activities. Documentation and direct engagement with the local team helped connect the ERP implementation to the technology environment around it rather than leaving the organisation with an isolated application deployment.
Outcome
KUTC received coordinated on-site migration support and an ERP implementation aligned with a project-led operating environment. Bringing infrastructure work and business-system delivery together helped keep technical readiness, user access and implementation decisions connected. The engagement established a more structured basis for administrative and operational processes supporting the organisation's transport-infrastructure work. On-site delivery also provided direct knowledge of the local environment, which is valuable when future changes depend on systems that cannot be assessed accurately from a remote checklist alone. The profile avoids publishing sensitive government-project details, internal records or unsupported performance claims.
