Cloud Security & Compliance

Engineering-led security controls and evidence practices that support SOC 2 or ISO 27001 readiness without disconnecting compliance from delivery.

Audit readiness without separating security from delivery

Translate security requirements into controls, evidence and operating practices that engineering teams can use every day—not a quarterly paperwork exercise.

Make the secure state repeatable and reviewable

Compliance becomes slow when controls live outside engineering workflows, ownership is unclear and evidence must be assembled manually before every review. The organisation may pass a point-in-time exercise while day-to-day configuration continues to drift. Our Cloud Security & Compliance service helps teams prepare the technical and operational controls associated with frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Least-privilege access, secret handling, image scanning, logging and infrastructure policy are integrated with how systems are built and changed. Independent auditors perform certification; our role is to improve the underlying security posture, establish evidence sources and support remediation and readiness.

Security and readiness coverage

Controls are selected against the agreed framework, environment and risk—not copied from a generic checklist.

  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness

Gap assessment, prioritised remediation and continuous evidence sources mapped to the relevant control scope and auditor expectations.

  • Least-privilege identity

Role-based cloud access, service identities, privileged workflows and recurring access reviews designed for maintainability.

  • Secrets management

Move credentials and certificates out of repositories and static configuration into approved stores with rotation and audit logging.

  • Container and dependency scanning

Detect known vulnerabilities before deployment using pipeline and registry scanning with agreed severity and exception handling.

  • Policy as code

Evaluate infrastructure and Kubernetes changes at pull-request and admission time with OPA, Kyverno, Checkov or comparable controls.

  • Audit logging and evidence

Central, protected logging and repeatable evidence collection reduce manual screenshot exercises and make control ownership visible.

From gap assessment to sustainable control

  • Assess

Map the current environment and evidence against the agreed framework and technical scope.

  • Prioritise

Rank findings by risk, audit importance, effort and dependency so the plan is executable.

  • Implement

Automate controls where practical and introduce enforcement in monitored, reversible stages.

  • Evidence

Validate operation, document ownership and support the team through readiness and auditor questions.

Why controls as code outlast a checklist

A manual review can find an unencrypted storage resource months after it appeared. A version-controlled policy can prevent that configuration from being merged or created in the first place. Automated controls do not remove human judgement, but they make the expected state visible and evaluate every relevant change consistently. Readiness duration depends on scope, starting posture and the framework. SOC 2 Type II also includes an observation period set with the auditor. We therefore avoid promising a universal certification timeline. The goal is to make evidence and remediation part of normal operations so future reviews create less disruption and the controls continue to protect the environment between audits.

Security and compliance questions

  • Do you perform the certification audit?

No. Formal audits are performed by an independent qualified auditor or accredited certification body. We help prepare the environment, evidence and team and can support technical remediation.

  • Can you work with our compliance automation platform?

Yes. Where appropriate, we connect underlying cloud and engineering controls to tools such as Vanta, Drata or Secureframe, while keeping the actual control implementation independent of a dashboard.

  • Will least-privilege changes break existing workflows?

Permissions are narrowed incrementally using logs, simulation or report modes where available. Legitimate dependencies are identified before enforcement, and changes are made with rollback options.

  • Can this support both SOC 2 and ISO 27001?

Yes, within an agreed scope. The frameworks overlap in areas but are not identical, so requirements and evidence are mapped explicitly rather than assuming one checklist satisfies both.
